Favorite Green Smoothie Recipe

Sharing my favorite green smoothie recipe. It is delicious and perfect for St. Paddy's Day!

I hope that you are having a GREAT St. Patrick’s Day! This isn’t a holiday that I really celebrate, but I do always wear green on this day. Today, I whipped up my favorite green smoothie since it was the green day, but also because I had been craving one! In college, I would make a smoothie every morning to pair with a granola bar for a quick breakfast. I couldn’t eat anything in my first class, which was American Sign Language, since we were constantly using our hands, but I could have a drink, so this was an easy way for me to get some protein and nourishment without actually eating food.

At one point, I was really into Mixed Berry smoothies, but this green smoothie is my go-to lately. I just can’t get enough of it! Although I am referring to it as a green smoothie, it is only green in color. It isn’t a true “green” smoothie made with veggies and green fruits. This smoothie is made up of bananas, peanut butter and spinach – a few of my favorite foods! Sometimes, I will eat it as a smoothie bowl with granola on top or I will throw the granola into the blender to add more flavor. This granola is my favorite!

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of greek yogurt, vanilla or plain

1 handful of frozen bananas

2 heaping tbsp of peanut butter

1 handful of frozen spinach

A couple of splashes of milk, to thin out the smoothie

1 scoop of vanilla protein

1 tbsp of Trader Joe’s Super Seed and Ancient Grain Blend (I don’t use very much of this, because I don’t like the graininess that it gives if you add to much)

Directions:

Blend together and enjoy!
