March Must-Haves

I feel like I tried a lot of different products this month. Some hits, some misses. This month, I fell in love with some old products and some new ones. I think I even found some new holy grail products. Since I have quite a few things to talk about for my March favorites, let’s get started!

Tarte Bright by Night Skincare Discovery Set

  •  Pure Maracuja Oil
  • Maracuja C-Brightener Eye Treatment

I have been loving this set all month long. Since it is a little pricey and these are sample sizes, I try not to use this every night. I love this stuff though! A little goes a long way with the oil and the eye treatment. They are both so light on the skin. I can’t even tell that I am wearing an oil. They never leave me looking greasy because my skin soaks it up so quickly. I truly believe that the eye treatment does work. My undereye area always looks so much brighter after I use it. Loving these two products! I have been looking on Haute Look and QVC to see if they are selling these two products because the full sizes are so expensive, but these products are sooooo good. These have quickly become holy grail products. Cant live without them!

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer

I started sunless tanning several years ago, but I wasn’t doing it on a regular basis. This month, I decided that I wanted to build up a nice tan for the summer. This lotion does such a wonderful job of giving you color without streaking. I do get a bit orange on my hands and toes, as well as around my ankles. But other than that, it gives a very natural looking tan. The shade, that I use, is medium to tan and by the next day, I can definitely tell a difference in the color of my skin. For all my fair girls out there and anyone who is wanting to develop a natural sunless tan, this is the product for you!

Cover Girl Oil Control Foundation

I bought this foundation last summer in the shade 510 Classic Ivory. Well by the time winter rolled around, it was too dark. I actually hated wearing this foundation because no matter what I did, it ALWAYS ended up oxidizing and looking orange on me. When I started sunless tanning on a regular basis, I started using this foundation again basically because I wanted to use it up and get rid of it. Lo and behold, I fell IN LOVE with it. It blends so smoothly and creates such a nice base for the rest of your makeup. It is medium coverage, but definitely buildable. It creates a satin finish. Not too matte, not too dewy. Even though it isn’t completely matte, it does control shine for 6 – 8 hours. Love, love, love this foundation now!

Maybelline Expert Wear Twin Brow and Eye Pencils

Before this month, I didn’t pay much attention to my brows. I didn’t wax, tweeze or fill them in. I would put a gel in them just so that my brows would lay the same way. This month, I got this brow pencil and I have been lightly filling them in ever since and loving it! I got the shade Light Brown but I want to try out the Blonde for the inner part of my brow. These come in two packs, at Walmart, for around $3.00. My only complaint is that I wish it had a spoolie on the other end so you could comb through your brows.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils

I got these pencils for Christmas this year and have been loving them ever since, but this month I have used them almost nonstop. I got a set of 6, which was all that I really needed to make a variety of looks. I obviously got Milk, as well as Sparkle Nude, Yogurt, Black Bean, Electric Blue and Iced Mocha. They go on so smoothly and blend out like a dream. They do a great job of keeping my eyeshadows from creasing, as well as making them appear more vibrant.

Maybelline One-by-One Mascara

This mascara has been my holy grail mascara for the past two, maybe even three years. Even though I try other mascaras, I always have a tube of this in my stash. Back in November, I think, I bought the L’Oreal Lash Out Butterfly Effect mascara and I fell in love. The One-by-One got put on the backburner. But this month, I went back to this basically just wanting to finish up the tube that I had and I was reminded how much I love this mascara. It creates so much volume in my lashes with just one generous coat. I have been using the color Satin Black, which is a lighter black but it is still very dark. When this runs out, I am going to get another one and start layering it with a lengthening formula to see how they work together because this mascara adds volume but it takes lots of coats to create length. And sometimes a girl just doesn’t have time to spend ten minutes on mascara.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer

I found this product in the middle of the month on Haute Look. I snatched it up and received it towards the end of the month, but I loved it so much that I had to include it. It is a beautiful highlighter, packed with a smooth shimmer that provides a dewy look to the skin. This product can be used for several different things. It can be used as a highlighter, eyeshadow or as a body shimmer. Don’t get me wrong this product doesn’t contain glitter at all. This is a shimmer product, NOT glitter. I have used this as an everyday eyeshadow, as well as a light highlight. A little goes a long way. Too much makes you look unnaturally shimmery and oily. Since you can use so little, this product should last awhile. This has quickly become a holy grail product. I can’t do my makeup without it!

Milani Color Statement Lipstick

I keep going back and forth over this lipstick. I have a love-hate relationship with it. I got the color Nude Creme, which is a pinky-nude. I love the color, the packaging and the fact that it smells like watermelon. But I don’t like the formula. Although it isn’t marketed as a matte lipstick, it’s a matte lipstick no doubt about it. It is soo drying on my lips. But since I love the color, I just layer this over a lip balm so that my lips are moisturized and it has a bit of a glossy appearance to it. The lip balm does sheer out the color a little, but you can always apply more.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

I bought this little guy when I went to Ulta to pick up my free birthday gift. I had had my sponge wedges for several years and they were beginning to be very worn out. So I started looking for something similar to the Beauty Blender. I didn’t want to pay $20 for a sponge so I needed a dupe. Everything I read said that this sponge was perfect. So $6 later, I had my sponge in hand and I was ready to take on the foundation world! This little sponge works wonders for my foundation and concealer. I use the pointed side to blend out my concealer and the sides to blend out large areas of foundation. I can’t wait to buy more of these!

Bath and Body Works Twilight Woods Perfume

This has been my go-to perfume all month long. The scent is very hard to describe, but it is definitely warm with some florally influences. According to Bath & Body Works, this perfume evokes the warmth and mystery of enchanted woods with an enticing blend of apricot nectar, mimosa petals and Tuscan Cypress. I personally smell a little coconut, vanilla and musk, as well as a slight florally scent. I love this scent for fall, which is typically when I wear it, but I was really in the mood for it this month.
