Today I wanted to focus on the “no makeup” look. This look can be taken two ways: the look of minimal makeup or the look of no makeup whatsoever. I went with the look of no makeup whatsoever. Both of these looks can use as few or as many products as you want. Minimal makeup typically uses more products than the “no makeup” does. I only used 8 products for the entire look!
After moisturizing my face, I applied the L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder (Classic Ivory) with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. Blend out completely with the brush. A sponge will soak up all of the product. This foundation is great for this look because it is so lightweight, but a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream would work great too. Using your finger, apply this foundation around your eyes as you would a concealer. This will act as your concealer since this foundation dries to a powder finish. Remember once there is powder on your skin, you can’t apply anymore cream product. If you need more concealer, apply it before your foundation.
For the eyes, I applied The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer as an eyeshadow all over my eyelid using the ELF Eyeshadow Brush. To add a sense of depth and definition to my eyes, I swept my Clinique Almost Bronzer (Light/Medium) into my crease using windshield wiper motions and my Real Techniques Crease Brush. I tightlined my upper lashline using the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Creamliner (For Blue Eyes) with the EcoTools Angled Eyeliner Brush. To make your eyes look more open and awake, you could apply the Rimmel Scandal’Eyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner (Nude) to your waterline. For mascara, I used the Cover Girl Professional Super Thick Lash (Black Brown). I applied one coat of this to my top and bottom lashes because I wanted them to look natural but you could apply as much or as little as you want. If you have dark eyelashes, you wouldn’t even have to apply mascara.
For my eyebrows, I just used my typical Bonnebell Eyestyle Mascara (Clear/Transparent) to style my eyebrows and keep them in place.
For a natural flush, I used the Maybelline Fit Me Blush (Light Pink) with an ELF Angled Blush Brush. I applied this to the apples of my cheek sweeping back to my temples. I lightly contoured and highlighted my face. My contour shade was the same bronzer that I used before and my highlighter was the Mary Lou-Manizer. Using the same blush brush, I contoured and then highlighted the tops of my cheeks, t-zone and Cupid’s bow.
For my lips, I used NYX Butter Gloss in Crème Brûlée. And we’re done!
